The abuse of drugs is an international problem from which no race or culture is immune The deleterious effects of foster care can be prevented by showing at-risk parents where to go from help. Homelessness cuts across racial and ethnic lines.  It can affect anyone. Domestic violence affects women and men, and like drugs and homelessness, cuts across racial, ethnic and social lines. The central causative agent for the various social ills that plague African Americans is racism that years of social advancement has not yet been able to erase.  The real elimination of anti-black racism must start with what caused it in the first place.
